Our Story

A Courtyard with a Remarkable History

The Courtyard was once the old stable yard of Middleton Hall — a working heart of the estate. Lovingly renovated by the Middleton Hall Trust's volunteers during the late 1980s, it was officially opened by Lord Middleton in 1990 and has been a cherished destination for visitors ever since.

Today, Courtyard Middleton is home to eight outstanding independent businesses — each handpicked for their craft, quality, and passion. No two shops are alike. No category is ever duplicated. Every visit offers something genuinely new to discover.
